Volunteer management handbook
This handbook on volunteer management was compiled in the context of the project VOAHR – Voluntariado Organizado para uma Ação Humanitária de Referência (Organised Volunteering for a Humanitarian Action of Reference) promoted by Federação Nacional de Associações Juvenis (National Federation of Youth Associations) in collaboration with Instituto Português do Desporto e da Juventude (Portuguese Institute for Sport and Youth), Asserbiz and Pista Mágica, as the implementing organisation of an experimental innovative process for the acquisition of skills and tools in volunteer management by third sector organisations.
The first part of the manual is an introduction to volunteering and the second addresses the technical aspects of volunteer management leveraged on the book Volunteer Management by Steve McCurley and Rick Lynch.
In annex is provided a summary of the Portuguese policies on volunteering and a toolbox for managing volunteering that can be adapted to the reality of each organisation.
