Mentors for Migrants Programme
The Mentors for Migrants Programme (MMP) is an initiative promoted by the Alto Comissariado para as Migrações (ACM) and carried out by local partners, at national level.
It aims to promote exchange, mutual aid, and support experiences between volunteers (Portuguese citizens) and migrants (emigrants and immigrants) and/or refugees.
Seeking to provide support, monitoring and guidance for the resolution of problems or concerns faced by immigrants or refugees with a view to their integration, MMP also makes available forms of connection, accompaniment or support for the return of Portuguese emigrants.
The volunteer mentors may, from this experience, further develop their personal skills, openness to diversity and have the opportunity to exercise their participative citizenship while the associated entities may find in this experience an opportunity for personal enrichment of their employees and organisational culture.
